Falling in Love with DoTERRA essential oils

I'm in love! No, no, no, not with another guy, so don't worry...I'm keeping Tommy.

I've recently discovered and I love them!

While on vacation, I met these two lovely ladies, Peggy and Jeanie from Idaho--Idaho of all places! We meet people from all over when on vacation it seems-- and they introduced me to doTERRA essential oils. Well, first they asked me if I had any knowledge of essential oils, which I did NOT, but I did tell them I had a vast knowledge of herbs and medicinal plants, which as it turns out is precisely where essetial oils come from. Well duh!

Then they asked if there were any health problems I wanted to address, which I would like help for and the first thing that popped into my head was hot flashes. I'm getting those hideous thing all the time now, 10-20 every day and night sweats are horrible, keeping me up most of the night! Well, they let me try some peppermint essential oil on the back of my neck and on the soles of my feet --yes, I thought it was weird to put that on my feet, too-- but it worked...extremely well, in fact. I didn't get a hot flash for nearly 24 hours! YAY!

How to start your own hedge from cuttings

Shrubs for free...YAY!

Oh, the Horror!

I stood in horror as I watched my friend take the clippers to her Forsythia. It had been a nice, though admittedly, a way too big patch of brambles, for her taste anyway. I explained to her that the birds love nesting in that mess, as it provides great cover for them from neighborhood feline fiends, one of which was her own vicious pet. She continued to snip away, thoroughly ignoring my protests,  until the once lovely shrub was barely more than a ball of twigs. It looked horrible.

Sanity questioned.

What I've been doing to relax

I wanted to show you what I've been doing lately as a means to relax in the evenings. It will be no surprise it's not gardening since daylight saving time is done and we're sunk in darkness come 5pm. ~sigh~

Such is life. So suck it up, Buttercup, and just keep going I say.

Christmas coasters.

What I love about seeds

Just a few of my pilfered seeds-- you do recall that's my favorite past-time, right?
I thought I'd tell you what I love so much about seeds. What's so great about them??? Really, what is there NOT to love about seeds? They are cheap, you can find them literally ANYWHERE and they are so much fun to collect!

Gardening in November...Yes, NOVEMBER!

I have never done any gardening to speak of in November before this year, but this year has been rather topsy-turvy in nearly every respect so... yes, I did a whole day of gardening yesterday.

I will tell you what I did on this rather warm-ish day...I think it got up to 65℉, but with the sun shining it felt much warmer to me which is always good.

What's good about Beech trees

Want to know what's particularly good about Beech trees?

Whaddaya mean you don't give a rip?!?!?

Well, I'm going to tell you anyway, so if you really don't want to know...stick your head in the sand...works for Socialists after all.

The day Dorothy from Kansas Stole my husband...and her little dog too!

I know it's been a while since I've been here, and I do apologize to the few people who liked my silly ramblings, but I have been unduly busy with other things...not necessarily enjoyable things but things that needed to be done. So, it's got to be something extraordinary for me to actually take the time to tell you my latest adventure...if you can call it that.

Nearly Wordless Wednesday: Clematis Time

It is Clematis time again...and it's rather spectacular this year.
White Clematis

Wanna see? Sure you do....

Nelly Moser clematis pale pink with darker pink center stripe.

Maroon red clematis.

Dark purple clematis.

Pale lavender clematis.

One clematis--my favorite Comtess De Bouchand, a sad thing indeed-- seems to have died over winter, but overall most of my clematis vines are looking nice this year.
